IDEAS partners with an organization that runs an engineering training program in the hills of eastern Myanmar and Chiang Mai, Thailand.  We are seeking engineering professionals to teach, train and support students in alternative power, construction, equipment repair, and drawing so they can provide resources to their villages

We are looking for people who can:

  • Instruct students in applied mechanical engineering courses, depending on the experience and skill
set of the teacher, may include: construction, fabrication, testing, repairs and electricity
  • Provide individual support to students

Our partner organization is training young people from the jungle areas of Eastern Myanmar, primarily from the “Karen” people group.  Decades of civil war has left the infrastructure in shambles.  Engineer technicians are needed in these villages to help provide crucial infrastructure for local facilities. Many students hope to return to their home villages so that their community can start to heal and grow.

Your service and dedication to this program could help impact numerous villages, translating into the improved lives and restored hope of hundreds of people.

  • A background in construction, small engine repair, and/or engineering technology
  • Engineering degree not required
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Adhere to the authority of local leadership

A customized budget will be created for each applicant

  • This program is for volunteers or self-supported individuals only. Applicants must provide or raise the necessary funds to live and work in Thailand or Myanmar
  • Fundraising coaching and training is available

For more information, please contact IDEAS at info@ideasworld.org or for budget estimations.
